Frankelplus is a data-driven research and trading venture focused on building highly calibrated probability models.

 

We aim to turn uncertainty into measurable, tradable insights via rigorous data analysis, statistical inference and disciplined automation. We focus on repeatable processes rather than one-off predictions, and on calibration rather than confidence.

 

The systems we develop ingest large volumes of historical (and, in time, live) market data to produce probabilistic forecasts, apply explicit risk controls, and execute trades systematically on liquid exchanges.

 

Frankelplus is built on a clear philosophy: good models beat good stories; discipline matters more than cleverness; automation reduces emotional and cognitive bias.

 

We are research-led, with a strong emphasis on data integrity, feature engineering, probability calibration, and robust evaluation. Growth is intentional and measured, with methodological soundness taking priority.

 

Over time, our ambition is to build a highly automated, scalable trading engine - and to apply the same principles wherever uncertainty can be priced.

FRANKELPLUS is a small, information-led start-up like no other you’ll come across. We are based half a dozen miles south of Leeds in the city of Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

 

We operate in a niche market within the fast-moving financial sports markets. The particular niche we currently operate in has a market turnover of £3bn a year in the UK alone.

 

  • Our first goal is to build market share in this sector to 1% (you can do the maths). 

​

  • Our second is to develop this same market internationally.

​

  • Our third goal is a gradual move, over the next three to five years, into other related markets, firstly within the UK and then internationally. 

​

We do the most unexpected things. Some would call it counter-intuitive; we call it superb business practice.

 

We are not about the big and the brash, fighting for survival in the corporate shark tank. We are about the calm and collected: identifying, gathering and interpreting the silent clues, hidden in plain sight and delivering them - beautifully packaged.

We believe the best solutions (products) emerge from highly collaborative cross-functional teams, where everyone has a stake in what is being built and a clear understanding of why, rather than just concerning themselves with how to deliver it.

We expect to remain small(ish). We may grow in numbers over time; however, we expect that the combined expertise and skills, the leverage of the best available technology and software will significantly improve our productivity and profitability year-on-year. Whoever said “Good things come in small packages” was on the right track in our opinion.

  

We are not into the latest trends or fads. And “hype” is a foreign concept to us. We happily admit that the ‘tried and tested' ways are the best. That which has proven to work over time is what we embrace: Honesty; transparency; loyalty; empathy; equality; inclusivity; fairness; helpfulness; diversity; authenticity; reliability; responsibility; commitment and perseverance - and let's never forget laughter!

These are some of the qualities we individually and collectively live and promote. We don’t just think they make for a better quality of life – we know that they are keys to a good life. It’s like breathing - which is certainly traditional and undoubtedly old-fashioned - but essential to living life to the full.
